We are very aware that as soon as you've ordered your Meluka furniture you'd like to have it in your home! For this reason we keep a large range of Meluka furniture in stock at our Auckland factory/warehouse. If we don't have the item you want in stock we aim to have your order ready at the factory within 4-6 weeks of receiving your confirmed order. Managing our leadtimes and our delivery expectations to our customers is very important to us. We are constantly seeking ways to reduce leadtimes and know how important meeting our customers expectations is.

All Meluka furniture is manufactured at Danske Mobler's factory in Auckland, New Zealand using the latest computer controlled manufacturing techniques. It is then finished (spray painted) and assembled by hand to our stringent in-house Quality Assurance systems.

All Meluka furniture is designed in house by brand our design and woodwork team.

A mixture of MDF (Medium Density Fibreboard) moisture resistant and Radiata Pine Plywood. All materials are sourced from NZ.  We use only approved, E1 low emissions MDF which meets AS/NZS 1859.2.2004; JIS F3 Star and F4 Star according to JIS A 5905:2003, CARB P2 and Ultra Low emitting Formaldehyde (ULEF) according to California Air Resource Board regulations.  All MDF used carries Environmental Choice New Zealand certification and is certified FSC mixed source.  For further info visit:  www.customwood.co.nz/faq 

Generally speaking no, the sizes can't be altered. However there are certain products where some simple dimensional changes can be implemented at our pre-production design office. Any changes mean the computerised manufacturing systems have to be altered so there will be a charge. Of course even if a dimensional modification is possible it will certainly add to the manufacturing leadtime. Email: jena@danske.co.nz  if you would like further information.

We provide a five year structural and workmanship guarantee. We will always stand behind our furniture. Our aim is to have completely satisfied clients who will continue to provide us with referrals for new business. Our 5 year warranty doesn't cover general wear and tear. Warranty excludes damage resulting from product misuse or product neglect. The warranty covers domestic use only and does not apply to commercial applications.

If purchasing online you will need to pay for your furniture in full at time of order. If you order at our own retail stores we require a 25% deposit with the balance due prior to delivery. Other retailers may have different terms so best check with them directly.

We have decided that we will not simply add the cost of delivery to every piece of furniture and 'pretend' to deliver it for free. The price of the furniture reflects the quality materials and high standard of workmanship. The cost of the delivery can be determined by selecting the product you're interested and adding it to a shopping cart.  Then click on the shopping bag icon (top right of the screen) and within this screen select your freight destination from the drop down menu. Freight costs vary depending on destination and dollar value of your order. You can easily clear your shopping cart at this time if you don't want to complete a purchase.

Really durable actually. All Meluka furniture is sprayed with a 2 pot lacquer system (to be precise an ‘acid-catalysed’ 2 pot system). This is a completely safe and highly durable lacquer system that we have used for many years.

The most important factor in caring for your furniture is common sense! For timber and upholstered furniture: protect from damp and heat, extreme temperature fluctuations and direct sunlight. Always lift furniture, do not slide unless on castors. For timber furniture: do not allow fluids to sit on timber surfaces for long periods. Wipe all spills immediately. Lift objects rather than drag them across surfaces to reduce chances of scratches. To clean wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately - do not use abrasive or solvent cleaners. 

Not at all – we think (obviously) that the castors are cool and they are certainly useful (remember some of this furniture can get pretty heavy!) but we also offer a fixed leg either round or square as an alternative. The fixed leg is 60mm diameter x 100mm high (so same height as standard castor) Radiata Pine. It’s available in White, Natural and Chocolate. Yes, it is possible to re-finish furniture that has been damaged. The cost of re-finishing depends on the amount and type of damage and the size of the piece. Contact our Auckland showroom for further details.

If we have it - Sure. Leave us your credit card details, address and phone numbers and we'll happily arrange for appro on site. Any delivery charges will be covered by the client as will any costs associated with repairing furniture damaged while on appro.

Yes. For many years Danske Mobler furniture has been shipped all over New Zealand. We sadly dont deliver outside of New Zealand.

This is a case by case proposition. Space at our factory is at a premium and we aim to utilise this space by manufacturing furniture not storing it. We do of course understand the potential delays in home building and renovations so will try to accommodate storage requests where possible. It is important to understand that payment in full will be required at the time of completion of your order.

In most cases No - The vast majority of Meluka furniture is completely assembled and quality checked at our factory prior to shipment. The beds, bunks and DESKtops do require some simple assembly. If your furniture is being shipped somewhere outside Auckland and it needs assembly you will need to follow the simple instructions provided. Don’t worry though - each piece has been manufactured using very high quality computer controlled machinery.  The accuracy of each component is therefore guaranteed to produce a straight forward assembly process should this be required.
